Designed by Ivan Parati, the award-winning Sandpaper is a modular sofa made from recycled corrugated cardboard. It carries the warm texture of natural sand dunes, and every curve is carefully considered: geometric tessellations drawn from Islamic patterns weave cultural depth into the details of the home, while six freely combinable modules adapt to all kinds of living spaces.
My intervention
Following a parametric logic of “one begets two, two begets three”, I seamlessly embedded pneumatic textiles into the sofa’s surface, unfolding a dynamic, tactile sensory mode. The redesign refines the feel of the corrugated cardboard while carrying forward its sustainable ethos and cultural value, giving it new tactile and interactive qualities.

我的创新改造
我的革新遵循“一生二、二生三”的参数化控制逻辑，将气动纺织物无缝嵌入沙发肌理，展开动态的触觉感官模态。这一设计改造优化了瓦楞纸的触感，并延续了其本身的环保理念与文化价值，赋予其新的触觉和交互属性。
