Light dwells in air.
Air Forming Lamp is an experimental home-design exploration of inflatable media in the context of digital intervention.
The work presents a lamp structure that grows and shapes itself. The entire shade is made from just two sheets of plastic film; once inflated, it gathers into a three-dimensional, biomimetic form.
Within the generative texture, air becomes a channel onto which light is mapped. Through light and shadow, the qualities of the material become easier to perceive and understand, and the path of its growth becomes clearly visible.
Through the experiments, Air Sketch found that designing with air reveals a dual nature, at once deliberate and accidental: precise human intervention guided by digital simulation and hands-on reasoning on one side, and the unpredictability brought by material variation and air pressure on the other. The interplay of the two opens up rich possibilities and a sense of play.
Can a design that balances order and spontaneity bring a more relaxed, contemporary sense of dwelling to everyday spaces?

Air Forming Lamp 空气灯系列，是数字化干预语境下，一场关于充气介质的实验性家居设计探索。
作品呈现了一种可生长、自成型的灯具结构，整个灯罩仅由两片塑料薄膜制成，材料充气达到一种收拢、立体的仿生灯罩形态。
在生成式的纹理结构下，空气为光提供了映射的通道。通过光影，材料的属性变得更容易被感知与理解，而其生长轨迹也变得清晰可见。
实验的过程中，Air Sketch 逐渐发现以“空气”为媒介的设计呈现出自然与偶然的两面性：一方面是数字模拟与经验推演下的人为精准干预，另一方面是材料差异与气压作用下的不可控性。这两种属性的交织，为设计提供了丰富的可能性与趣味性。
如此权衡秩序与随性的设计尝试，能否为日常空间带来更为松弛的当代栖居感？
